ABOUT
Chiara Ligi is an Italian creative producer and multimedia artist based in Milan. She’s focused on intangible cultural heritage and social issues and she realizes videos, multimedia installations, interactive works. She also experiments in diverse fields, from performing arts to live cinema.
She graduated in Cinema at the University of Bologna and then she focused on documentary at Nova University in Lisbon. She was mentored in scriptwriting by Tonino Guerra, writer of Fellini, Antonioni, Tarkovskij and many others. In 2007 she joined the pioneering multimedia art collective Studio Azzurro with whom she established a long and prolific collaboration, maturing a considerable experience in designing interactive works, video installations and multimedia exhibitions and museums.
In 2012 she resumed her personal journey, alternating personal projects and collaborations with other artists/directors (camerAnebbia, MammaFotogramma, Uovoquadrato, Suranga Katugampala, Alfie Nze, etc). Her recent experiences range from multimedia art to documentary and live cinema productions. Together with Mattia Costa she founded Film-Live Association with the aim of experimenting film language and live cinema. The project won the Cultural Innovation fund of Fondazione Cariplo in 2017. In 2018 she founded Tokonoma with Mauro Macella.
Chiara Ligi is lecturer at the Design School of Politecnico di Milano and the Civica Scuola di Cinema Luchino Visconti.
